IMSA Productions Recognized For Excellence With Five Telly Awards
Tuesday, April 18, 2017

Fans of the various racing series sanctioned by IMSA clearly are aware of the outstanding content created by the IMSA Productions team on a regular basis.

Race coverage of IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and other IMSA-sanctioned one-make or development series, and breathtaking post-event “Sights and Sounds” have become appointment viewing for IMSA fans. This content also is being earning accolades for its excellence by the broadcasting industry.

For the second year in a row, IMSA Productions was recognized with several Telly Awards, which are presented annually for achievements by the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators and corporate video departments in the world. More than 13,000 entries were submitted from all over the world.

IMSA Productions earned five Telly Awards in 2017.  Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America television coverage won, for “Sports TV Show” and “Live Event Coverage,” while Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama also earned a Telly for “Live Sports Event Coverage.” In addition, IMSA Sights and Sounds features earned a pair of Tellys, for “Documentary Web Series” and “General Web Series.”

These honors bring the total number of Telly Awards for IMSA shows to 11 in just two years. Last year, IMSA Productions earned six Tellys, three each for its coverage of Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama.

“We couldn’t be more proud of the work our IMSA Productions team does for all of our events, and it’s gratifying that their hard work is being recognized through prestigious awards such as the Tellys,” said IMSA Vice President, Marketing, David Pettit. “To earn 11 Telly Awards over the past two years is quite an accomplishment. Hearty congratulations are in order for the entire IMSA Productions team.”

The Telly Award was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video and films.

The Silver Telly Council, comprised of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, evaluates entries to recognize distinction in creative work, and entries are judged against a high standard of merit rather than against one another. With each panelist being a former recipient of a Silver Telly, the judging process ensures that the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents is upheld.

“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in television, film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. “IMSA’s accomplishment illustrates their creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great television and video production.”
