JDX Racing is excited to announce the signing of Trenton Estep to drive the #3 JDX/Hertz Porsche 911 in the 2017 season of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama.

Estep, a 17-year old from San Antonio, TX began racing karts on a local level at four years of age before moving up to the national karting level at age eleven. While participating in several touring kart series, Estep won the SKUSA Pro-Tour title and Maxspeed US Open Rotax Junior Championship along the way to making his transition to open-wheel cars. During the 2016 racing season, Estep competed in the Canadian-based Formula Tour 1600 and Super Series Championship series, winning both championships with a combined 12 wins in 17 races. Estep has also had starts in the Red Bull Global RallyCross Lites series and the US F1600 Championship Series.

With a solid background in karting and experience in formula cars, Estep is looking forward to the challenges of racing sports cars and enjoying the continued success that he has had in the junior racing formulas.

Trenton Estep:

“I am very excited to be entering the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama with the backing of two prestigious organizations, Hertz and JDX Racing. I have grown up with a father who is a muscle car guy, owning a 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback, AC Cobra, several Big Block Chevy Camaro's and many other performance cars. He told me about Hertz and it's "Rent-A- Racer" Shelby GT-H3 Mustang program that began in the 1960's.”

“There’s going to be pressure on me to perform, but I know the season will be great and we’ll be very competitive. I have been training very hard in the off season, preparing for the first round in Sebring and I know the team has been working even harder on the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car. During pre-season testing, the Hertz car is getting better every lap. I am confident we will show good speed right from the start in Sebring and score some points to start the championship.”

“It’s an honor for me to drive for Hertz in 2017 and I truly appreciate them supporting a 17 year-old. I can’t rent a Hertz car yet, but I can drive their sponsored race car!”

Jeremy Dale:

“Trenton is a perfect fit for JDX Racing and the IMSA Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama championship. I can’t say how excited and proud we are to have him driving the Hertz Porsche in 2017. He’s a proven winner with a huge amount of talent - and he’s laser focused on having a career in professional sports car racing. What a perfect fit for JDX Racing! We can’t wait to get to Sebring and get to work.”
