2016 Porsche GT3 Cup USA champion aims to score wins 12 and 13 to cap off a stellar season

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – 2016 Porsche GT3 Cup USA champion Jesse Lazare has one more weekend of unfinished business as he heads to the final two rounds of the 2016 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama at Road Atlanta this weekend.  Lazare, in his Doordoctor.com / Kelly Moss Road and Race #21 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, has won the last six races and is looking to end the season on a high note.

“It’s a little more relaxed heading into this weekend knowing that our season goal has been reached,” the 2016 champion said. “But that doesn’t mean we are just going through the motions. The team and I want to win both the races this weekend to cap of a great season for all of us.”

For Lazare, it is his chance to put a firm stamp on his season. “I don’t think anyone has ever won the last eight races in a row, so I really want to be the first. I love the Road Atlanta track, and I can’t wait to get started.”

When asked if heading to the track this weekend as champion is any different than past weekends, Lazare said, “The only difference is that we can all enjoy the race maybe a bit more now that the main goal has been met. I think this weekend it will feel more like ‘old school’ where you race for the enjoyment of racing.”

“This is also a chance to thank my supporters, who strive for excellence every day in their own businesses: Doordoctor.com, Garaga, Olymbec, Kart-o-Mania, Smokeshowsauce.com, TNR Doors, Micanan, Prestige Porsche, and of course my team, Kelly Moss Road and Race.”
