IMSA Hurley Haywood GT3 Cup Scholarship

The IMSA Hurley Haywood GT3 Cup Scholarship is open to aspiring racers between the ages of 16 and 25 with no previous full-time Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama experience. Candidates will have a robust desire to drive a GT3 Cup car, will have strong racing results and proven on-track potential in junior racing categories alongside the ability to build a strong business case for securing the remaining funding necessary to compete in a full season of Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama season.

2019 finalists will be reviewed by a panel of experts, after which a recipient will be chosen. The IMSA Hurley Haywood GT3 Cup Scholarship winner will receive the following, valued in excess of $75,000:

  • A full-season Premium Entry in the 2019 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama
  • A parts credit with Porsche Motorsports North America 
  • One set of Yokohama Tires for each Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge event, a total of eight (8) sets 
  • Complete OMP driver suit, gloves, etc. 
  • Two-page feature story in RACER Magazine 

Last season’s scholarship recipient – Max Root of San Diego, CA, made the most of his awarded support and is currently battling for the 2018 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama Platinum Cup Championship with long-standing GT3 Cup championship team, Wright Motorsports. at the very front of one of the most competitive fields in series history His dominant run in the series paves the way for new, aspiring talent seeking entry into the GT ranks of sports car racing, made possible by the Hurley Haywood Scholarship.
